Man Found Dead on Kasoa–Accra Highway After Heavy Rains as Flooding Causes Major Traffic Gridlock

A man believed to be in his 30s has been found dead on the Kasoa–Accra Highway at the SCC area following Monday’s heavy downpour that left several parts of the Greater Accra Region flooded.
The body was discovered in the early hours of Tuesday, June 30, 2026, lying in the middle of the highway. The cause of death and the circumstances leading to the incident are yet to be established.
Police have since launched an investigation to determine the identity of the deceased and the cause of his death.
Meanwhile, traffic on the busy Kasoa–Accra Highway has deteriorated significantly after floodwaters submerged a section of the road.
The flooding has forced vehicles travelling in both directions to use a single carriageway, resulting in heavy congestion and prolonged delays for motorists and commuters.
The incident comes in the wake of continuous heavy rainfall over the past two days, which has caused widespread flooding across the Greater Accra Region. Several roads have become impassable, while residents in some communities continue to deal with the impact of the floods.
Authorities have advised motorists to exercise caution, follow traffic directions, and avoid flooded roads where possible as emergency response efforts continue.
