Man Arrested in Juaboso for Allegedly Stabbing Family Member in Both Eyes

Police in the Juaboso District have arrested a 55-year-old man, William Gyamfi, also known locally as Kwasi Manso, for allegedly stabbing a family member, Akua Agyeiwaa, in both eyes with a pair of scissors during a domestic altercation at Sefwi Abrokofe.

The incident occurred on January 13, 2026, following a personal disagreement between the suspect and the victim, believed to be in her early 50s.

The assault left the woman critically injured, and she was immediately rushed to the Juaboso Government Hospital for emergency medical treatment.

According to police reports, a community patrol responded swiftly to a distress call and apprehended Gyamfi at the scene. The suspect himself sustained injuries—swelling in his left eye, a laceration on his forehead, and bleeding on his left leg—after being confronted by some residents.

Gyamfi was treated at the Juaboso Government Hospital before being discharged into police custody, where he is cooperating with investigators.

Some locals have alleged that the suspect has a history of violent behaviour, including a previous attack on his brother-in-law with a cutlass.

Residents of Sefwi Abrokofe have called on law enforcement to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure justice is served, emphasising that holding the suspect accountable could help deter similar acts of domestic violence in the community.

The police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and the suspect will be processed for court appearance in due course.
