Kojo Oppong Nkrumah Appointed Chairman of NPP Policy Committee Amid Major Party Restructuring

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has appointed Kojo Oppong Nkrumah as Chairman of its newly restructured Policy Committee as the party intensifies efforts to rebuild after the 2024 general elections defeat.
The appointment, announced after a National Executive Committee and National Council meeting on May 7, 2026, is being viewed as a major endorsement of Oppong Nkrumah’s growing influence within the party.
The committee is expected to play a key role in shaping the NPP’s future policy direction, coordinating research, stakeholder consultations, and developing alternative governance proposals ahead of the 2028 elections.
