Koforidua Klu Town Fire: GNFS Investigates Blaze That Destroyed Three Wooden Structures

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has launched an investigation into the cause of a fire that gutted three wooden structures and a metal container at Klu Town, opposite the EP Church in Koforidua, Eastern Region, on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Firefighters responded to a 5:30 a.m. distress call, arriving within five minutes under ADO I Sagoe’s command.
The blaze, which spread rapidly and consumed valuable items inside, was contained by 6:58 a.m. and fully extinguished by 8:04 a.m., with no casualties reported. GNFS crews successfully prevented spread to adjacent buildings, crediting their prompt action for salvaging nearby properties.
The service assured the public of a thorough probe into the outbreak’s origin, urging caution with open flames and rubbish burning to avoid similar incidents.
