Kemi Olunloyo Claims Regina Daniels Struggles with 8-Month Drug Addiction Amid Ned Nwoko Assault Denial

Nigerian investigative journalist and pharmacist Dr. Kemi Olunloyo has ignited fresh controversy by alleging that Nollywood actress Regina Daniels is grappling with an eight-month substance abuse issue, following a personal conversation with her billionaire husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.

Olunloyo’s revelations come amid viral reports of domestic violence in the couple’s marriage, where Daniels’ brother allegedly intervened to “rescue” her from their Abuja home after claims of assault by Nwoko.

In a video shared online, Olunloyo expressed deep sadness over the “unfortunate situation,” stating she contacted Nwoko immediately after social media exploded with unverified stories. “I reached out to Ned to get the truth because the stories were all over the place,” she said. Nwoko, a Delta State senator and businessman, reportedly denied the assault allegations outright, insisting he was not even at home during the incident. “I was not in the house yesterday. The story that I beat her is false,” Olunloyo quoted him as saying.

Instead, Nwoko allegedly opened up about Daniels’ deteriorating condition, claiming her drug use has led to erratic behavior, including multiple rehab stints with inconsistent results.

“She’s been using drugs for the past eight months, going in and out of rehab. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t,” Olunloyo relayed, adding that Nwoko blamed Daniels’ social circle—including friends and her sister—for introducing her to substances during “glam nights.”938805b10fda11c82f He reportedly described a chaotic scene where an impaired Daniels refused medical care for their son Munir (aka Moon) during a fever, slapped two nannies and her driver, and damaged property, including his red Ferrari and house windows.

Olunloyo, who once assisted the late Whitney Houston with addiction challenges, painted a picture of Nwoko’s exhaustion: He allegedly recounted Daniels filming him in the bathroom mid-urination, an act he attributed to her being “high.” Despite the strain, Nwoko expressed a desire to support her, emphasizing family and warning that continued denial could endanger her life and their children.

In a separate Facebook statement, Nwoko echoed these sentiments, calling Daniels’ actions “unprovoked carnage” fueled by addiction and insisting on mandatory rehabilitation in Asokoro, Abuja, or abroad—preferably Jordan—to cut off access to drugs.

The scandal erupted on October 18 after a tearful video surfaced showing Daniels amid a group of men, with her brother Sammy West confronting alleged “thugs” sent by Nwoko. West later accused the senator of assaulting his sister, vowing protection.

Daniels, 25, married the 64-year-old Nwoko in 2019 amid public scrutiny over their 39-year age gap; the couple has three sons together.

Olunloyo, a polarizing figure known for celebrity exposés, urged restraint: “I’ve been trying to reach Regina all day,” she said, noting Nwoko’s promise of a formal statement. Drawing from her anti-drug advocacy, she warned, “These drugs are extremely dangerous—they can take over your life.”
