Efia Odo Debunks Rumours of Being Daddy Lumba’s Daughter

Ghanaian actress and media personality Efia Odo has categorically denied longstanding rumours that she is the biological daughter of the late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, known as Daddy Lumba, who passed away on July 26, 2025.

In a video posted on her Instagram on July 29, 2025, Efia Odo addressed the speculation, clarifying that the claims stem from a misinterpreted joke she made years ago during her time with Questa TV.

“So I was gonna totally ignore this, but it’s becoming too much. No, I am not Daddy Lumba’s biological daughter. Actually, Daddy Lumba is everybody’s daddy,” Efia stated, emphasizing that her playful remark was taken out of context. She explained that a “clout chaser” clipped the video to falsely suggest a familial tie, fueling the rumour. “I said I was joking, but they twisted it to fit their agenda,” she added.

The rumours gained traction after Moira Araba Dawson-Williams, reportedly linked to politician Kennedy Agyapong, claimed Daddy Lumba had abandoned Efia Odo, allegations Efia dismissed as baseless. Social media posts on X, including from @GHOneTV, noted the timing of the controversy amidst national mourning for Lumba, with users like @SIKAOFFICIAL1 urging respect for the Fosu family’s privacy. Efia reiterated that Lumba was a universal “nurturer” through his music, not her biological father, and called for an end to the misinformation as Ghanaians prepare for a candlelight vigil in his honor on August 2, 2025
