The Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu in the Ashanti Region, Jerryne Asante, has alleged that she was attacked by some executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the municipality.
Speaking on Adom FM, she named the Ashanti Regional Women’s Organiser, the constituency chairman, organiser, and youth organiser as those involved, claiming the incident occurred on April 27.
According to her, the attack was linked to internal tensions over leadership and local issues, including disputes surrounding land and a reported warehouse break-in.
Madam Asante further alleged that some individuals who had ambitions for the MCE position have since worked to frustrate her administration.
Despite the incident, she called for unity and cooperation, stressing the need to work closely with traditional leaders to maintain peace and order in the municipality
