“I Was Told Daddy Lumba Married Odo Broni” – Family Head Testifies in Explosive Widowhood Battle

The ongoing legal fight over who is the legitimate widow of highlife icon Daddy Lumba (Charles Kwadwo Fosuh) took a dramatic turn Friday as Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu, head of the late musician’s extended Ekuona family, testified that he was informed Lumba had customarily married Priscilla Ofori (Odo Broni) in April 2010 at Tantra Hills.
Under intense cross-examination by William Kusi, counsel for plaintiff Akosua Serwaa Fosuh, the family head admitted:
He did not attend any 1991 wedding between Lumba and Odo Broni.
He first met Odo Broni after Lumba’s death in 2025 at the musician’s residence.
Odo Broni and family members told him she was customarily married to Lumba and had six children with him.
Lumba’s youngest sister, Faustina Fosuh (currently indisposed), confirmed the marriage.
He initially recognised only Akosua Serwaa as Lumba’s wife and presented her with customary drinks (tsir nsa) upon his death.
However, Serwaa later returned the head drinks, signalling dissolution of her marriage — a claim now central to her suit.
Abusuapanin Owusu said he was shocked when Odo Broni introduced him to the marriage witnesses and those who accepted the customary drink.
Akosua Serwaa is seeking a declaration that she is the sole surviving legal wife entitled to perform widowhood rites and an order restraining Odo Broni from identifying as Lumba’s wife.
The case, presided over by Justice Dorinda Smith-Arthur, continues amid high public interest.
