Government Gives Adamus Resources 12-Month Roadmap to Turn Mine Around

The government has directed the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, the Minerals Commission and Adamus Resources Limited to present a 12-month roadmap for turning the company’s mine around.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency on Friday, August 21, 2026, the roadmap will include a six-member management team jointly formed by Adamus and the government to supervise the turnaround of the mine. The committee will comprise three members from the Adamus side and three from the government side.
The agreement followed a meeting at the Presidency aimed at resolving the dispute between the two parties in a bid to salvage one of the few operating indigenous large-scale mines.
The roadmap will also outline a plan for settling liabilities owed by Adamus to the Ghana Revenue Authority, the Minerals Income Investment Fund, financial institutions and suppliers.
In addition, it will explore means of injecting fresh capital by inviting additional partners to take up equity in the mining operation.
The two sides are expected to present the roadmap to the Presidency within two weeks.

The statement was signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications.
