Traditional Authority to Relocate Residents for Yeji 24-Hour Economy Market Project

Nana Sumpahene Kwame Dangnye has disclosed that the traditional authority will relocate residents occupying portions of land earmarked for the government’s proposed 24-hour economy market project in Yeji to allow construction works to begin.

 

According to the chief, the decision forms part of efforts to support the successful implementation of the project, which is expected to boost economic activities and create employment opportunities for residents.

 

Speaking during the official handing over of the project site to the district assembly and contractor, Nana Sumpahene Kwame Dangnye explained that affected residents would be engaged peacefully to ensure a smooth and conflict-free relocation process.

 

He further stated that the traditional council remains committed to collaborating with the government and local authorities to ensure the market project becomes a reality.

 

The chief noted that the establishment of the 24-hour economy market would help transform Yeji into a major commercial hub by improving trading activities, supporting local businesses and attracting investors to the area.

 

The project forms part of the government’s broader 24-hour economy initiative aimed at expanding business opportunities and promoting continuous economic activity across the country.

 

Meanwhile, Abdul Nasir Dauda, speaking to Adom News reporter Daniel Tachie, welcomed the initiative and expressed appreciation to John Dramani Mahama for the project.

 

He expressed optimism that the market would bring development and improve livelihoods in the district, while also urging the contractor to prioritize local employment during the construction phase. He additionally cautioned residents against stealing project materials.
