Ghana Police Foil Robbery on Tutuka-Akrofuom Road in Obuasi, Arrest One Suspect

Obuasi Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service successfully thwarted a robbery attempt on the Tutuka-Akrofuom road in Obuasi, Ashanti Region, following a swift response to a distress call.
The police encountered a gang of armed robbers who fled into nearby bushes, abandoning two unregistered motorbikes and a machete.

During a pursuit, one suspect, identified as Pascal Yenkye, was arrested after sustaining a leg injury while attempting to escape on his motorbike. Yenkye is currently receiving medical treatment under police guard.
A manhunt is underway to apprehend the remaining suspects who escaped. The Ghana Police Service has reiterated its commitment to ensuring security, law, and order nationwide, urging the public to provide information to aid ongoing investigations.

This incident follows a pattern of recent police successes in combating robbery in the region, including the arrest of an ex-convict for a carjacking incident in Accra on July 30, 2025.
