The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has completed the clearing of the right-of-way for the proposed Accra-Kumasi Expressway ahead of schedule.
GAF Engineers cleared 175.6 kilometres of the project corridor in 19 weeks, completing the assignment one week earlier than the original 20-week schedule.
The exercise was undertaken as part of early preparations for the major road project, with support from the Ministries of Defence, Finance, and Roads and Highways.
According to the GAF, its engineers worked closely with officials from the partner ministries to open up the corridor and prepare it for the next phase of construction activities.

The Armed Forces said the successful completion of the task ahead of schedule demonstrates its growing engineering capacity and expanding role in national infrastructure development.
The GAF described the achievement as “delivering on mission ahead of schedule”, reaffirming its engineers’ commitment to excellence and maintaining a proactive approach to national assignments.
The completion of the corridor clearing marks an important preparatory step toward the proposed Accra-Kumasi Expressway, one of the major infrastructure projects intended to improve connectivity along the route.
