Four Arrested in Tema with 315 Parcels of Suspected Indian Hemp Hidden in Truck Tyres

On Monday, September 8, 2025, Tema Community 1 District Police arrested four men after discovering 315 compressed parcels of suspected Indian hemp hidden in the tyres of a truck. The operation, prompted by a tip-off, took place at the Community 1 Industrial Area.

The suspects, identified as Nura Sali (44), Pius Chukwuma (49), Mustapha Umar (18), and Abdulai Amayau (23), were apprehended with the truck, registered as GN 7291-16, which was impounded during the raid. The group is currently in custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.

The Regional Police Command praised the officers for their professionalism and reiterated its commitment to tackling drug-related crimes. “We urge the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station for swift action,” the command stated.
