Former Employment Minister Ignatius Baffour-Awuah’s Movements Restricted by Court
Court curtails movements of former Employment Minister Ignatius Baffour-Awuah
A District Court in Sunyani has imposed restrictions on the movements of Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, the former Employment and Labour Relations Minister, as part of his bail conditions.
Baffour-Awuah, who is also the owner and financier of the Nsoatreman Football Club, is not allowed to leave or travel outside the Sunyani Municipality without judicial approval.
This comes after he and two other suspects, Agyemang Duah Owusu and Joseph Kyeremeh, appeared in court on Tuesday for their alleged involvement in the tragic murder of Francis Frimpong, a supporter of the Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC.
The incident occurred during a violent disturbance at a Ghana Premier League match between Nsoatreman FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
Baffour-Awuah and Kyeremeh were charged with “abetment to commit a crime, to wit murder” and granted GH¢500,000 bail each, while Owusu was remanded in police custody for murder. The court also ordered Baffour-Awuah to submit his passport to the court registry for 14 days.
The suspects will re-appear in court on Monday, February 17, 2025
