FDA Shuts Down Nungua Lounge Over Suspected Illicit Drugs; Two Arrested

The (FDA) has shut down the Italian Boy Lounge at Nungua Kantamanto following an enforcement operation that uncovered suspected illicit drugs on the premises.
The exercise forms part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to combat substance abuse and the illegal distribution of controlled substances across the country.
According to the FDA, two staff members of the lounge were arrested to assist with investigations into the alleged possession of the suspected illicit drugs.
The premises have since been closed pending the outcome of the investigations.
The Authority said the operation demonstrates its commitment to protecting public health and ensuring that businesses comply with Ghana’s laws governing the sale, possession and distribution of regulated substances.
Officials also confirmed that suspected drugs found during the operation have been seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
The FDA has indicated that further updates will be provided as investigations continue.
