Dembélé Brace Sends PSG Past Liverpool Into Champions League Semi-Finals

Ousmane Dembele scored twice as Paris Saint-Germain defeated Liverpool FC to secure a place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
PSG entered the second leg at Anfield with a two-goal advantage and, despite strong resistance from the hosts, sealed the tie with a commanding performance.
After sustained pressure from Liverpool, Dembélé broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute with a powerful left-footed strike. He later added a second goal in stoppage time, putting the result beyond doubt.
Liverpool, inspired by their home crowd, pushed hard in search of a comeback but were unable to find the back of the net against the reigning European champions. The defeat marks the second consecutive season the Reds have been eliminated by PSG.
Manager Arne Slot made bold tactical decisions, including handing Alexander Isak his first start since December and initially leaving Mohamed Salah on the bench. Salah was later introduced after Hugo Ekitike was forced off due to injury.
A key moment came in the 65th minute when Liverpool were awarded a penalty following a challenge on Alexis Mac Allister by Willian Pacho. However, the decision was overturned after intervention from VAR by referee Maurizio Mariani.
Shortly after, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia set up Dembélé for his first goal, which effectively ended Liverpool’s hopes of a comeback. The French forward then completed his brace late on after being assisted by Bradley Barcola.
The result sees PSG advance to the semi-finals, where they will face either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.
For Liverpool, the defeat raises further concerns about their season, as they now risk missing out on both silverware and qualification for next season’s Champions League.
