Carlos Queiroz Names 28-Man Black Stars Squad for World Cup Preparations

Carlos Queiroz has announced a 28-man squad for Ghana national football team ahead of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and an international friendly against Wales national football team in Cardiff.
The squad, which includes five goalkeepers, nine defenders, seven midfielders, and seven forwards, began training on Monday, May 25, 2026, at Dragon Park.
Ghana will take on Wales on June 2 as part of preparations for the upcoming World Cup tournament to be hosted in the Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Among the notable returns is Baba Abdul Rahman, who has impressed this season with PAOK FC, recording three goals and three assists in 35 appearances.
Ernest Nuamah also returns after nearly a year on the sidelines recovering from an ACL injury while playing for Olympique Lyonnais.
The squad further includes recalled players such as Abdul Mumin of Rayo Vallecano, Augustine Boakye of AS Saint-Étienne, and Alidu Seidu from Stade Rennais FC.
Ajax youngster Paul Reverson has also been included for assessment as part of the technical team’s long-term plans.
At the World Cup, Ghana has been drawn in Group L, where the Black Stars will face Panama national football team in Toronto, England national football team in Boston, and Croatia national football team in Philadelphia.
