Chief Supports Use of Local Languages in Schools to Preserve Ghanaian Culture

The Chief of Sefwi Boako in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality of the Western North Region, Nana Asante Kwaw II, has called for the increased use of local languages in schools to help strengthen Ghanaian culture and values among the younger generation.
Speaking during the Inter-Circuit Competition of the Arts and Culture Festival held at Sefwi Boako under the theme “Ghanaian Culture: Nurturing and Preserving Ghanaian Values,” the chief expressed concern over the growing influence of foreign cultures on Ghanaian traditions and moral values.

The Municipal Director of Education for the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Education Directorate, Samuel Tawiah Nipa, also assured participants that the Directorate under his leadership would collaborate closely with traditional authorities to promote culture among students.
He stressed that strengthening cultural education in schools remains important in nurturing responsible and culturally conscious citizens.
