Asantehene Donates 1.12 Acres for New Ghana School of Law Campus in Kumasi

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has donated 1.12 acres of prime land in Adum, Kumasi, for the construction of an ultramodern campus for the Ghana School of Law.

The new facility aims to decentralize legal education in Ghana, enhancing accessibility and upholding high standards in legal practice.

During the handover ceremony on July 28, 2025, Justice Nana Barima Yaw Kodie Oppong, a Court of Appeal Justice and Director of Legal Education, praised the Asantehene’s generosity, stating, “Once again, the King of Ashanti has demonstrated selflessness and commitment to education by graciously handing over approximately 1.12 acres of prime land for this ultramodern facility.”

Acting Chief Justice Baffoe-Bonnie emphasized the campus’s role in shaping Ghana’s justice system, noting, “It represents our aspiration for a Ghana governed by the rule of law, where future lawyers are trained with values and integrity.”

The project, supported by stakeholders like the General Legal Council, is expected to bolster legal education and foster justice-driven leadership. Calls for timely completion were echoed, with the initiative seen as a milestone for equitable access to legal training in the Ashanti Region
