23-Year-Old Man Drowns in Afram River

A 23-year-old man has drowned in the Afram River after reportedly spending several days wandering near the area.
The deceased, identified only as Anthony and believed to be from Kwahu Tease, had been seen moving around the community for about two days prior to the incident.
Residents indicated that he appeared distressed and was known to be dealing with minor mental health challenges.
The local assembly member, Sampson Kpitsi Aban, noticed Anthony’s condition and initiated efforts to trace his family. His parents were eventually contacted and informed of his whereabouts, but they were unable to reach him in time.
According to reports, Anthony was found drowned in the river between the morning and midday of the following day. The exact circumstances leading to his death remain unclear.
Personnel from the Ghana Police Service have visited the scene and commenced preliminary investigations into the incident.
Anthony’s family is expected to arrive in the area to make arrangements following the tragic loss.
