10 Injured in Early Morning Crash on Accra–Kumasi Highway

At least 10 people have been injured following a road accident at Mile 44 on the Accra–Kumasi Highway.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, April 13, 2026, at approximately 4:24 a.m., involving a VIP bus and a diesel trailer.

According to reports, the crash was caused by a wrongful overtaking attempt by the bus, which led to a collision with an oncoming trailer.

There were 33 passengers on board the bus at the time of the accident. Out of this number, 10 individuals sustained injuries, comprising nine males and one female. No fatalities were recorded.

Both vehicles involved in the collision suffered partial damage.

The injured victims were treated at the scene before being transported to a nearby medical facility for further care. Emergency responders later cleared the accident scene, restoring the free flow of traffic along the highway.

Authorities have once again urged drivers to exercise caution and strictly adhere to road safety regulations, particularly when overtaking, to help prevent similar incidents.
