Zakaria Abdulai Resigns as Juaben NDC Constituency Secretary, Withdraws Chairmanship Bid

Mr Zakaria Abdulai has formally resigned as the incumbent Secretary of the Juaben Constituency of the National Democratic Congress, with immediate effect.

In a letter dated 20 October 2026 addressed to the General Secretary of the NDC, he also formally withdrew his candidature for the position of Constituency Chairman in the forthcoming NDC constituency elections, effective immediately.

Mr Abdulai expressed his profound gratitude to his friends, relatives and all well-wishers who stood by him and maintained their faith in his innocence in the face of the allegations levelled against him and his office.

He said he was equally grateful to the National Democratic Congress for the opportunity to serve the Party as both a member and an officer. It had been a privilege to contribute to the growth and development of a political tradition that he deeply loves and cherishes.

At this time, he intends to devote his attention and resources to pursuing all lawful avenues to clear his name and vindicate his position. He remains hopeful that once these matters are resolved, he will be able to return to active political engagement and continue contributing to the ideals and aspirations of the NDC.

The letter was copied to the National Chairman and the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC.
