We’ve Voted NDC Since 1992 but Have Nothing to Show — Ewe Communities in Kpandai Cry Out Over Neglect

Ewe communities along the Oti River in the Kpandai District have appealed to the District Chief Executive and Member of Parliament to address what they describe as decades of neglect and lack of development.

Residents say despite consistently voting for the National Democratic Congress since 1992, they still lack essential social amenities, including schools, health facilities and good roads.

Residents of Atifufu, Kastakpa and other surrounding communities say the lack of basic infrastructure has affected their living conditions and access to essential services.

They are calling on the district authorities and their Member of Parliament to urgently address their concerns and ensure that development reaches communities along the Oti River.

“We have voted for the NDC since 1992 and given the party our full support, but we still lack basic amenities. We are appealing to the DCE and our MP to come to our aid because our communities also deserve development,” some residents said.

The residents warn that continued failure to address their concerns could influence their voting decisions in the 2028 general elections.

They are therefore urging the authorities to move beyond political promises and take concrete steps to improve infrastructure and living conditions in the affected communities.

The residents say they are hopeful that their concerns will receive the necessary attention to ensure that communities along the Oti River are no longer left behind in the district’s development agenda.
