‘Wesley Girls Asks Students to Spy on Muslim Girls So They Don’t Pray’ – Interior Minister Alleges

Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak has accused Wesley Girls’ High School of telling students to spy on Muslim girls to stop them from praying. He warns this could cause big problems in Ghana’s religious peace.
On Newsfile on Saturday, November 29, 2025, Mubarak said both Christian and Muslim faith schools are showing more intolerance. This hurts Ghana’s long history of living together.
He asked mission schools to stop rules that block students from worshipping freely. “We need fairness and respect for all faiths,” he said.
Mubarak made a strong claim:
“Let me say with all respect and integrity, Wesley Girls asks girls to spy on Muslim girls to make sure they don’t pray. I am told they hide to pray. We are playing with something that can turn bad,” he warned.
His words come as the Supreme Court gave Wesley Girls’ Board 14 days to answer charges that Muslim students cannot fast, pray, or wear hijabs.
Democracy Hub has joined the case as an interested party. The final ruling could change how mission schools handle religion.
