WASSCE 2025 Results Set for Release This Week: WAEC Urges Candidates to Stay Patient

As anticipation builds among thousands of senior high school graduates across Ghana and the West African sub-region, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has confirmed that the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results are slated for official release this week.

The announcement comes amid heightened expectations from candidates who sat for the exams earlier this year, many of whom are eyeing university admissions and career opportunities hinging on their performance.

WAEC has assured stakeholders that its teams have been working around the clock to process the results with utmost integrity. This includes ongoing investigations into reported cases of exam malpractices, such as leakage and impersonation, to uphold the credibility of the certification process.

In a public advisory, the council emphasized the importance of patience, cautioning against rumors and unofficial sources that often circulate on social media. “Candidates are urged to remain patient and await the official release through verified channels,” WAEC stated in a communique.

Once released, the results will be accessible online via the WAEC Ghana website (ghana.waecdirect.org). To check their scores, candidates will need:

A valid e-voucher PIN and serial number, which can be purchased from authorized WAEC offices, post offices, or accredited vendors.

WAEC has also reminded schools and private candidates to ensure they have their result-checking vouchers ready to avoid delays. For those without access to the internet, results can be viewed at designated WAEC offices nationwide upon presentation of relevant documents.

Last year’s release saw over 400,000 Ghanaian candidates achieving credits in key subjects, including core mathematics and English, a slight improvement from previous years. Officials anticipate similar trends for 2025, pending the full breakdown.

As the education sector recovers from post-exam jitters, WAEC’s Director of Operations encouraged parents and guardians to support candidates during this waiting period. “The integrity of our examinations is paramount, and we are committed to delivering accurate results that reflect true merit,” the director noted.

For real-time updates, candidates are advised to follow WAEC Ghana’s official social media handles or visit the website regularly.
