A devastating incident occurred in Walewale, North East region, on Thursday, February 13, 2025, when a bus was set ablaze, resulting in the loss of two lives.

According to Accra-based Citi News, the bus was traveling from Kumasi to Garu when it was ambushed by unknown armed men after stopping in front of the ADB Bank in Walewale.

The motive behind the deadly attack is still unclear, but it is believed to be connected to the ongoing Bawku conflict, which has already claimed the lives of over 50 people.

This latest incident comes just two days after a similar attack on February 11, 2025, where three passengers were killed, and their bus was set on fire near Wulugu on the Bolgatanga-Tamale highway.
