Tottenham 3-0 Slavia Prague: Kudus and Simons Penalties Seal Comfortable Champions League Victory

Tottenham Hotspur cruised to a 3-0 UEFA Champions League win over Slavia Prague at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, moving to ninth in the league phase—one point shy of the top eight.

David Zima’s 26th-minute own goal, deflecting Cristian Romero’s header from a corner, opened the scoring. Mohammed Kudus doubled the lead from the spot five minutes into the second half after Pedro Porro was fouled.

Xavi Simons wrapped it up with a 79th-minute penalty, won himself and confidently dispatched, capping a dominant display.

Thomas Frank’s side, buoyed by Saturday’s 2-0 Premier League win over Brentford, controlled proceedings. Richarlison nearly scored in the first minute, while Kudus and Wilson Odobert threatened throughout. The result marked Tottenham’s 100th Champions League goal in their 59th match.

Post-match, Frank said: “We got the job done… Two clean sheets, three solid performances. We need to be sharper in the box, but I feel positive.” He noted Micky van de Ven’s suspension for the January 20 Dortmund clash after a yellow card.

Simons told TNT Sports: “Really happy… Slavia played man-to-man—you create your own chances. The weekend with Forest will be tough, but we continue.”

Spurs face Borussia Dortmund (away) and Eintracht Frankfurt (home) to close the league phase, aiming for automatic round-of-16 qualification. Next: Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday
