Three Dreamers Manufacturing CEO Laments Looting of Flood-Damaged Goods at Spintex Warehouse

The Chief Executive Officer of Three Dreamers Manufacturing Ltd, Bismark Offei Ansah, has expressed deep concern after floodwaters destroyed part of his warehouse at Spintex, near the Toyota Roundabout in Community 18, during the June 29 Accra floods.

Speaking in an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, the CEO revealed that the force of the flood breached the warehouse wall, causing goods to be washed away.

He alleged that some residents took advantage of the situation and carted away several items.

“People ransacked our warehouse and took toilet rolls, Deluxe products, different types of toffees, chewing gum, Centre-Filled, Balloona, Bubble Gum, Good Morning and Balloona biscuits,” he said.

Mr Ansah said he is particularly concerned that the flood-affected products may already be circulating on the market.

“Our fear is that these products may already be on the market, so we don’t want anybody to take them there,” he cautioned.

According to the CEO, the situation became so chaotic that even a heavy police presence could not fully control the crowd.

“We brought in a lot of police personnel, and they couldn’t even control the situation,” he added.

He also disclosed that some people attempted to break into the warehouse again to loot additional goods after the initial flooding.

The company is appealing to the public and relevant authorities to be on the lookout for the flood-affected products and avoid buying or selling them.

The incident highlights the significant disruption and losses suffered by businesses in the Spintex area following the devastating June 29 floods.
