TENSION ERUPTS IN KPANDAI AS RESIDENTS CLASH WITH NEDCo OVER POWER DISCONNECTIONS

Tension flared up in Kpandai in the Northern Region after residents from four communities stormed the district office of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) to protest the disconnection of electricity to their homes.
The affected residents, mainly from Lesseni, Gbanderi, Benafedo, and Jentimah, accused NEDCo of disconnecting power supply following allegations of incorrect meter readings and underbilling.
According to the residents, the outages have severely affected businesses and students preparing for the ongoing BECE examinations.
They claimed repeated appeals for power restoration yielded no results, leading to the protest at the NEDCo office.
Security personnel and the District Chief Executive later intervened to restore calm and prevent further violence.
