Telecel Ghana Sets the Record Straight: Clarifies Role in Supporting AT Ghana

Telecel Ghana has responded to recent allegations made by the Minority in Parliament, describing the claims as “misleading” and a “distortion of facts.”

The company clarified its role in supporting AT Ghana’s customers through national roaming, stating that it was a directive from the National Communications Authority (NCA) and not a political or commercial maneuver.

– Telecel Ghana was instructed by the NCA to host AT Ghana’s network traffic after ATC Ghana shut down AT Ghana’s sites over unpaid debts.

– The company has been providing national roaming services to AT Ghana since September 1, 2025, allowing AT customers to use mobile voice and data services across the country.

– Telecel Ghana is awaiting the outcome of the ongoing assessment by KPMG, the government-appointed transaction advisor, on the matter.

– The company has invested over $240 million in Ghana since its acquisition in 2023, including legacy debt payments, network expansion, and infrastructure upgrades.

– Telecel Ghana has maintained all 600 employees and retained its status as a certified Top Employer.
