The Municipal Chief Executive of Techiman, Hon. Kwaku Adjei Mensah, has commissioned a six-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Fiaso M/A Basic School as part of efforts to enhance quality education in the municipality.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by a delegation of municipal officials, education directors, traditional leaders, teachers and excited pupils of the school.
Speaking to the media during the event, Hon. Kwaku Adjei Mensah revealed that children in the community had been learning under trees due to the large population at the school.
He emphasised that the government is committed to providing quality education for all children, regardless of their location, and assured that more educational infrastructure projects would be rolled out across the municipality.
The MCE urged the children, teachers and community leaders to maintain and take proper care of the facility.
He also highlighted other ongoing educational infrastructure projects in schools within the municipality.
Meanwhile, Madam Hannah Yeboah, Headmistress of Fiaso M/A Basic School C, who spoke on behalf of the schools, expressed gratitude to the MCE for coming to their aid.
She advised parents, guardians and caretakers to always prioritise their children’s education.
