The task force mandated to guide the establishment of Ghana’s proposed national airline is set to submit its final report to President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday, December 23, marking a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to revive a national carrier.
The 10-member committee is expected to present comprehensive findings and recommendations, including a clear roadmap for the operationalisation of the airline. The report follows months of technical assessments and consultations with key stakeholders in the aviation industry.
The task force was constituted by the government to evaluate the viability of the national airline project, examine potential organisational and governance structures, assess financing options, and explore strategic partnerships. The committee also reviewed compliance requirements with international aviation standards and regulatory frameworks.
According to officials, the submission of the report will guide the next phase of the project, including policy approvals, implementation timelines, and strategic planning needed to establish a functional and sustainable national airline.
The task force is chaired by Charles Asare, a former Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited, and includes experts in aviation, finance, and infrastructure development, whose collective experience has informed the advisory process.
