Tamale Court Remands Drug Distributor Caught with 447 Boxes of Tramadol, Tramaking

Northern Regional Police Command arrested 53-year-old pharmaceutical distributor Alhaji Abdulai Sayuti following an intelligence-led operation at his over-the-counter chemical shop near Victory Cinema in Aboabo, Tamale.
Police discovered 368 blisters of Tramadol (120mg) and 298 blisters of Tramaking (120mg) in his possession. Further investigations led to a warehouse in Fuo, a suburb of Tamale, where authorities seized an additional 447 boxes of Tramadol and 11 boxes of Tramaking.

Sayuti appeared before a Tamale court on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, where he pleaded guilty to charges of possession and unlawful sale of restricted drugs.
He was remanded into prison custody and is scheduled to reappear on July 21, 2025. During the court proceedings, Sayuti collapsed and is currently receiving treatment at Tamale Teaching Hospital.
The Northern Regional Police, through Public Relations Officer Chief Inspector Alhassan Luckman Neindow, reiterated their commitment to combating the drug trade in the region and urged the public to provide information to aid ongoing enforcement efforts
