The Supreme Court has unanimously dismissed an application by the Member of Parliament for Ofoase-Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, seeking a review of an earlier decision that rejected his request for an injunction against the hearing of selected cases during the legal vacation.
The decision was taken by a three-member panel of the Supreme Court on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
At the start of proceedings, lawyers for the MP had asked the Court to adjourn the review application, citing the late service of documents by the Attorney-General’s Department.
Counsel for Mr Oppong Nkrumah, Frank Davies, argued that the documents had been served late and that the defence needed additional time to study them and prepare an appropriate response.
The Supreme Court, however, rejected the request for an adjournment and proceeded to hear the substantive review application.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah had previously approached the apex court to challenge the hearing of what he described as selected cases during the legal vacation.
His original application for an injunction was dismissed by the Court, prompting him to file the review application in an attempt to overturn that decision.
The three-member panel has now unanimously rejected the review bid, dealing another blow to the MP’s legal challenge over the conduct of court proceedings during the legal vacation.
The latest ruling means the earlier decision dismissing his injunction application remains in force.
