St Peter’s SHS Secures 4th Eastern Regional NSMQ Title in Thrilling 2025 Finale
In a gripping showdown at the GNAT Hall in Koforidua, St Peter’s Senior High School (SHS) clinched the 2025 Eastern Regional Championship of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), marking their fourth title win.
The grand finale on July 18, 2025, saw St Peter’s outshine Okuapeman SHS and Pope John’s SHS and Minor Seminary after defending champions Koforidua Sec Tech were eliminated earlier. The electric atmosphere, fueled by jama songs and vibrant school spirit, set the stage for an intense contest.
In Round 1, St Peter’s and Okuapeman tied at 24 points, with Pope John’s at 18. The speed race saw St Peter’s take the lead with 34 points, followed by Okuapeman (29) and Pope John’s (22). St Peter’s dominated the true-or-false round, reaching 40 points, while Okuapeman and Pope John’s scored 36 and 35, respectively.
In the riddle round, Okuapeman and Pope John’s battled closely, leading to a tie-breaker for second place, which Okuapeman won with a correct answer.
St Peter’s, however, maintained their lead with consistent precision, securing the championship and reinforcing their NSMQ dominance in the Eastern Region.
