Shakira and Burna Boy have joined forces for a new FIFA World Cup anthem titled Dai Dai.
The song blends reggaetón-inspired rhythms with Afrobeats, creating a vibrant fusion of both artistes’ musical styles.
In a teaser from the iconic Maracanã Stadium, Shakira sings: “You from the day you were born / here in the space you belong … what broke you once, made you strong,” before aerial footage of the stadium appears alongside the phrase, “We are ready.”
The release marks Shakira’s second official FIFA World Cup song following the global success of Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) for the 2010 tournament in South Africa.
“Waka Waka” became a worldwide hit, peaking at No. 2 on multiple Billboard Latin charts and spending 42 weeks at No. 1 on the Latin Digital Song Sales chart, making it one of Shakira’s biggest international records.
The announcement of “Dai Dai” comes shortly after Shakira performed for more than two million fans during the Todo Mundo No Rio at Copacabana Beach.
She has also announced additional U.S. dates for her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour due to high demand from fans.
