Sekondi High Court Halts NPP Electoral Area Elections in Tarkwa-Nsuaem

The Sekondi High Court has placed an interim injunction on the New Patriotic Party’s Electoral Area Elections in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency, effectively halting the exercise scheduled for today, June 10, 2026.
The court order, issued on June 9, 2026, followed an ex parte application filed by Andrews Adade of Kwabedu in Tarkwa.
Presiding over the matter, the court granted the application after hearing counsel for the plaintiffs, Dennis Adjei Dwomoh and Agya Yaw Nsiah Agyemang.
The order restrains the defendants, including members of the Polling Station Election Committee, their agents, representatives and any persons acting on their behalf, from proceeding with, organizing, conducting, supervising or declaring results of the Electoral Area Elections in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency.
The court further directed that no results arising from the electoral process should be recognized or used pending the resolution of the dispute or until the parties file any agreed terms of settlement.
According to the court, the injunction will remain in force for ten days unless the application is renewed on notice.
The order was issued under the hand and seal of the High Court and signed by the Registrar, Sandra Komfa, on June 9, 2026.
The injunction is expected to temporarily suspend all activities connected to the NPP Electoral Area Elections in the constituency until further directions are issued by the court.
