Police Arrest Man for Death Threats, Unlawful Possession of Firearms and Drug Cultivation

The Volta North Regional Police Command has arrested a 31-year-old man, Saviour Dzadze, for unlawful possession of firearms, cultivation of suspected narcotics and threats of death.
The suspect was arrested on Wednesday, 14 September 2026, after he was identified by police at the Kpando Circuit Court premises.
According to a press release signed by Inspector Felix Kwao, Public Relations Officer of the Volta North Region, a complaint was filed on 8 September 2026 by Mr Dzodzi Kofi Kpakpamikpe, who alleged that the suspect had threatened him with death at gunpoint.
A search conducted at the suspect’s residence led to the discovery of one AK-47 assault rifle, one pump-action shotgun, one locally manufactured single-barrel gun, ten AAA Lion cartridges of ammunition, and a quantity of substances suspected to be Indian hemp.
Investigations further established that the suspect traded his cultivated suspected Indian hemp for the AK-47 assault rifle with an unidentified man from Togo. He received the pump-action shotgun from his brother, Foster Dzadze, in Accra, while he inherited the locally manufactured single-barrel gun from his late father, Matherous Dzadze.
The suspect is currently in police custody assisting with investigations and was expected to be arraigned before the court on Friday, 16 September 2026.
The Volta North Regional Police Command reiterated its commitment to fighting crime and said efforts were underway to arrest his accomplices.
