Petrol, LPG Prices Rise as Diesel Drops Slightly from June

Fuel prices are expected to see mixed adjustments from Sunday, June 1, 2026, with petrol and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) recording increases while diesel prices decline slightly.
According to the latest projections by the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies, petrol prices are expected to rise by 6.20 percent, while LPG will increase by 2.24 percent due to higher international petroleum product prices.
Diesel, however, is projected to drop by about 2 percent amid softer global market conditions and ongoing interventions within the petroleum sector.
Under the pricing guidance of the National Petroleum Authority, petrol will now sell at a minimum of GH¢15.20 per litre, LPG at GH¢13.48 per kilogram, and diesel at GH¢15.49 per litre.
The latest fuel price adjustments come as transport operators prepare to implement a 20 percent increase in public transport fares beginning June 2, 2026.
The fare increment, announced by the Ghana Private Road Transport Union and the Commercial Transport Operators of Ghana, has been linked to rising fuel prices and the increasing cost of spare parts.
Industry analysts say the increase in petrol and LPG prices could place additional pressure on transportation, logistics, and household spending, with possible implications for inflation in the coming weeks.
