Pentecost elder on the run after allegedly killing wife in Amansie Central

A church elder of the Church of Pentecost has reportedly gone into hiding after allegedly killing his wife at Gyametanhunu in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region.

The suspect, identified as Kwame Sarpong, is said to have fled the community following the incident, which claimed the life of his wife, Abena Oforiwaah.

According to a report by Angel TV, the incident occurred after a heated confrontation between the couple over allegations of infidelity. The deceased reportedly accused her husband, who serves as an elder at the Gyametanhunu branch of the Church of Pentecost, of cheating on her.

The accusation is said to have sparked a serious argument, which later escalated into violence, resulting in Abena Oforiwaah’s death.

Residents of the area are said to be in shock over the incident, while police have launched a manhunt for the suspect to assist with investigations.

Authorities are yet to release an official statement as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the alleged murder.
