One dead, three security officers injured in clash with Ghetto Boys at Dominase Junction

A violent clash at Dominase Junction in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region has resulted in one civilian dead and three security officers critically injured.

The incident occurred during a joint operation involving the Gomoa East District Security Council and the Central East Regional Police Command, located behind the Dominase Onion Market.

According to reports, the operation was initiated in response to a surge in highway robberies along the Kasoa-Winneba stretch.

During the operation, a confrontation erupted between the security officers and suspected ghetto boys, leading to chaos.

Two police officers and one immigration officer sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Gomoa Potsin Polyclinic and the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.

Throughout the operation, security personnel seized drugs and weapons from some of the suspects.

The assembly subsequently began demolishing illegal structures believed to be hideouts for criminal activities.
It was during this exercise that a civilian lost his life.

The death of the individual reportedly infuriated the suspects, who retaliated by attacking assembly staff and security officers with cutlasses, stones, and sticks.

The mob also vandalized two DRIP machines and a police vehicle during the melee.

Authorities report that investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being made to restore calm in the area.
