NSA Sets Up Help Desk to Resolve Biodata Mismatches for National Service Personnel

The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced that it will set up a dedicated help desk to assist prospective National Service Personnel experiencing biodata discrepancies between their Ghana Card details and class list records submitted by educational institutions.

In a press release dated August 18, 2026, the Management of the NSA said the special Registration Help Desk will operate at the NSA Headquarters from Wednesday, August 19, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m.

Affected personnel will be guided through the appropriate procedures to resolve their specific biodata mismatches.

The Authority will host officials from key partner institutions, including the National Identification Authority (NIA) and the Ghana Publishing Company, to provide specialised on-site support.

This collaborative effort is designed to simplify the correction process, reducing the need for personnel to visit multiple external offices and ensuring that issues are resolved promptly.

According to the NSA, if the discrepancy originates from the Ghana Card, affected personnel will be directed to the NIA special desk to undertake the necessary correction or update of their details.

Where the correction requires the person’s name to be officially gazetted, the individual will be provided with emergency gazette services at the Ghana Publishing Company special desk to complete the appropriate gazetting process, after which the corresponding changes can then be effected in the NSA records.

The NSA urged all affected personnel to ensure that their name, date of birth and other biodata on their Ghana Card accurately correspond and are consistent with the information submitted by their educational institution.

Personnel are encouraged to resolve any discrepancies as early as possible to avoid challenges with registration, validation, deployment, payment of allowances and other National Service-related processes.

The Authority further advised educational institutions to exercise due diligence in verifying the biodata of students before submitting class lists to the NSA, as accurate institutional data is essential to ensuring a smooth and efficient National Service experience for all.

Common causes of biodata mismatches include failure to update institutional records after an official change or correction to a person’s biodata, spelling discrepancies between names on the Ghana Card and the school’s class list, differences in the order or arrangement of names, omission of a name from either record, incorrect date of birth, and the use of maiden, married, abbreviated or alternative names across different records.

The National Service Authority reaffirmed its commitment to improving service delivery and ensuring a seamless experience for all service personnel and stakeholders.
