NPP Refers Petitions Against Deputy Communications Director Owusu Bempah to National Council

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has escalated multiple petitions against its Deputy Director of Communications, Ernest Owusu Bempah, to the party’s National Council for review, citing concerns over his conduct and potential violations of internal directives.
In a statement dated September 24 and signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP expressed “grave concern” over Owusu Bempah’s actions, noting that formal petitions from party members demand his removal from office.
The party emphasized due process: since his appointment was recommended by the National Executive Committee and approved by the National Council, the matter must be determined by the Council to ensure fairness and transparency.
The disciplinary probe stems from allegations that Owusu Bempah made social media comments contravening a party gag order aimed at preventing disaffection, similar to a prior referral to the National Disciplinary Committee in April 2025 for breaching media directives.
This echoes earlier warnings in June 2025 alongside Bono Regional Chairman Kwame Baffoe Abronye for indiscipline.
The NPP reaffirmed its commitment to internal discipline and unity, assuring members the process will align with party values. Owusu Bempah, a vocal NPP communicator, has not publicly responded to the latest petitions.
