Nana Ama McBrown Undergoes Final Surgery, Announces Full Recovery and Return to TV

Popular Ghanaian actress and television host Nana Ama McBrown has successfully undergone her fifth and final surgery to address long-standing pain and complications in her right arm, bringing to a close a difficult chapter in her life.

The celebrated actress and host of Onua Showtime revealed that the procedure marks the end of more than a decade of medical struggles following a near-fatal car accident in January 2013, which left her with severe injuries to her right arm and required multiple surgeries and extensive therapy.

Speaking on TV3’s New Day on December 17, Nana Ama McBrown explained that she had taken time off television work since May to focus on her final surgery and recovery.

“I haven’t been on TV for work since May. I took time off to do my last surgery on my hand. This is my fifth one, and it’s the last because of how I’m feeling now and how I prayed to God for healing,” she said.

McBrown recounted how she often endured intense pain behind the scenes despite appearing energetic and joyful on screen.

“I was on TV every day, dancing and making people happy, but when they say ‘wrap,’ within the next hour, when I’m calm, I start feeling my pain,” she disclosed.

Now fully recovered, the multi-award-winning actress expressed deep gratitude for her healing, noting that the pain she lived with for years is finally gone.

“I’m so happy and thankful to God that as I speak, I don’t feel the pain again. There is no pain, nothing. The marks are just healing for me. The scars tell a story,” she said.

With renewed strength and relief, Nana Ama McBrown announced her readiness to return to her professional duties, confirming her comeback to television.

“I’m ready to work. I’m back. I’m back on Onua Showtime,” she concluded.
