NACOC Arrests Six Suspects in Anti-Drug Operation at Donkor-Nkwanta in Bono East Region

The Bono-East Regional Command of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested six individuals during a targeted anti-drug operation at known hotspots in Donkor-Nkwanta in the Nkoranza South District.

The operation, codenamed “Operation Clean Street”, was carried out on Friday, March 27, 2026, as part of sustained efforts to curb the sale and abuse of illicit drugs, particularly among young people in vulnerable communities.

In a statement posted on Facebook on Saturday, March 28, NACOC described the exercise as an intelligence-led intervention aimed at improving safety and dismantling drug networks in the region.

Suspects and Items Seized

The arrested persons have been identified as:

  • Ismael Tahiru, 20
  • Edward Adai, 20
  • Opoku Kwame, 20
  • Benjamin Atinga, 22
  • Isaac Antwi, 23
  • Emmanuel Brobbey, 23

During the operation, officers recovered substances suspected to be cannabis and other synthetic drugs. Items seized include:

  • Four blisters of Tramadol (250mg)
  • Six boxes of Gold Seal
  • 60 rolls of cannabis
  • Parcels of cannabis
  • Locally prepared cannabis
  • Rolling papers
  • A lighter

Authorities also confiscated a motorcycle and several tools, including kitchen knives, scissors, and a hammer.

All six suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations. The seized items have been secured for forensic analysis and will be used as evidence.

NACOC’s Commitment

“The Bono-East Regional Command reiterates its commitment to intensifying intelligence-led operations aimed at dismantling drug trafficking networks and reducing substance abuse within communities in the region,” the statement said.

The Commission appealed to the public to support its efforts by providing credible and timely information that can help in the fight against illicit drug activities.

This latest operation underscores NACOC’s ongoing drive to make Bono East communities safer by targeting drug peddling and abuse hotspots.
