Muntaka Pledges Quality Education for Every Child in Asawase

The Member of Parliament for Asawase, Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, has pledged to ensure that every child in the constituency has access to quality education, regardless of the challenges they may face.
According to the MP, the various educational infrastructure projects undertaken in the constituency over the years are intended to create opportunities for children to receive quality education and improve their lives and those of their families.
“My target is to ensure that no child is left behind. All the infrastructure we have been providing over the years is aimed at ensuring that every child has the greatest opportunity to make a difference, not only in their own lives but also in the lives of their families,” Alhaji Muntaka said.
He made the remarks when he joined the Municipal Chief Executives for Asokore Mampong and Old Tafo, Ben Abdallah Alhassan and Abubakar Sadique, respectively, as well as education officials, traditional leaders and religious leaders to commission new classroom facilities at the Asokore Mampong R/C and Aboabo Middle B schools.
The commissioning forms part of efforts to improve educational infrastructure and provide more conducive learning environments for children across the Asawase constituency.
‘Education Has Transformed the Constituency’
Alhaji Muntaka, who has served as MP for Asawase for 25 years, said he was encouraged by the transformation taking place in the constituency as a result of increased access to education.
Reflecting on his own educational journey, he said providing similar opportunities for his constituents remained one of his major motivations.
“I always say that I am where I came from, and I can say, by the grace of God, that Allah was good to me and gave me the opportunity to attain tertiary education,” he said.
“For me, there cannot be anything better than giving my people the opportunity to educate themselves and ensuring that no child is left behind, regardless of the difficulties they may face.”
The MP said the impact of investments in education was becoming increasingly visible, with young people from the constituency now working as professionals across various fields.
‘We Are Beginning to See the Dividends’
Alhaji Muntaka said the growth in the number of professionals emerging from the constituency demonstrated the long-term benefits of investing in education.
“That is our motivation, and I am beginning to see the dividends. In my constituency, 25 years ago, when I became a Member of Parliament, and now, I can see tremendous changes,” he said.
He noted that the constituency now had doctors, nurses, teachers and other professionals who may not have had the same opportunities without improved access to education.
Muntaka Announces Teachers’ Awards
The Asawase MP stressed that while infrastructure such as roads and markets remained important to development, education must continue to receive significant attention.
“So, no matter what we do, whether it is roads, markets or other infrastructure, we must continue to emphasise the importance of ensuring that our people have the best opportunity to educate themselves. We must not take our eyes off education. That is the essence,” he said.
As part of efforts to motivate teachers and promote excellence in education, Alhaji Muntaka also announced plans to establish an annual Municipal Teachers’ Awards Scheme.
The initiative, he said, would recognise and reward teachers who demonstrate exceptional commitment and excellence in their work.
He further urged students to remain focused and disciplined, while cautioning them against substance abuse.
The MP said continued investment in both educational infrastructure and human capital would remain central to his efforts to improve opportunities for young people in the Asawase constituency.
