Multiple Injuries in Three-Vehicle Crash at Tadieso Near UEW Techiman Campus on Palm Sunday

Several people sustained injuries following a three-vehicle collision at Tadieso, near the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Techiman Distance Learning Centre junction on the Techiman–Kumasi road on Palm Sunday morning.
The accident occurred around 10:00 a.m. during a heavy downpour and involved:
- A Kia Picanto taxi with registration GS 3644-19
- A Toyota Corolla saloon car with registration GT 4164-20
- A tipper truck with registration GS 1139-25
All three vehicles were travelling towards Kumasi at the time of the crash.
Eyewitnesses reported that the Kia Picanto had just dropped off students at the UEW learning centre and was returning when the collision happened. The tipper truck and the Toyota Corolla were also heading in the same direction.
Although no fatalities were recorded, several victims sustained varying degrees of injuries and were promptly rushed to the Techiman Holy Family Hospital for treatment.
Police officers arrived at the scene shortly after to manage traffic and ease congestion along the busy highway. Investigations have commenced to determine the exact cause of the accident, with early indications pointing to the slippery road conditions caused by the heavy rain.
The incident has once again highlighted concerns about road safety on the Techiman–Kumasi corridor, especially during rainy weather. Authorities are urging motorists to exercise extra caution, reduce speed, and maintain safe following distances when driving in wet conditions.
