Mpatasie Leaders Dismiss Black Stool Theft Claims, Assure Community of Peace

Traditional authorities of Trede Mpatasie in the Atwima Kwanwoma District have firmly denied reports suggesting that a revered black stool and other regalia have been stolen, describing the claims as false and misleading.

Speaking to Adom News, the Chief Linguist, Osei Kwame, stated that no such incident has occurred in recent times and assured the public that the community remains peaceful and stable.

He emphasized that Trede Mpatasie continues to enjoy harmony under the leadership of Nana Asante Krobea Amoaben, who has led the area for the past six years.

Old issue, not current crisis

According to the linguist, the claims circulating on social media are inaccurate and appear to be a distortion of an issue that occurred about four years ago and was resolved amicably.

He stressed that there are no ongoing tensions related to the matter.

Warning against misinformation

Kyeame Osei Kwame further alleged that a single individual may be responsible for spreading the false claims in an attempt to create unrest within the community.

“The peace we are enjoying today is not by chance but through committed leadership and cooperation. We will not allow anyone to disrupt it with falsehoods,” he stated.

Residents and members of the royal family have also condemned the circulation of the reports, warning that legal action could be taken against those responsible if the misinformation persists.

Call for calm and verification

The traditional leadership has urged the public, media organisations, and social media users to verify information before sharing, stressing the importance of protecting the peace and unity of the community.

They reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the dignity, culture, and stability of Trede Mpatasie.
