Mohamed Salah Becomes First African Player to Score 50 Champions League Goals

Mohamed Salah has achieved a historic milestone, becoming the first African player to score 50 goals in the UEFA Champions League.

This remarkable feat occurred during Liverpool’s decisive 4-0 victory over Galatasaray in the second leg of their round of 16 tie.

 

The iconic 50th goal came in the 62nd minute, sealing Salah’s personal achievement and contributing to Liverpool’s 4-1 aggregate win, securing their progression to the quarter-finals. This moment marks a new chapter in African football history.

 

Salah’s incredible goal tally is a testament to his consistent brilliance in Europe’s top club competition. Of his 50 Champions League goals, 47 have been scored for Liverpool, highlighting his significant impact since joining the club and his role in their 2019 Champions League triumph.
