Missing 8-year-old girl found dead in cocoa farm at Sefwi-Asawinso

A search for an eight-year-old girl who went missing at Sefwi-Asawinso has ended in tragedy after her lifeless body was discovered less than 24 hours later.
The deceased, identified as Josphine Ayitey, reportedly went missing on Sunday afternoon while playing with a friend. A search was launched but yielded no results until her body was found the following day in a cocoa farm on the outskirts of the community.
According to the Assemblyman for the area, Adu Stephen, the discovery has left residents in shock and fear.
An eyewitness indicated that the body showed signs suggesting her neck may have been twisted, although no visible bloodstains were found. She was reportedly found naked in a prone position near Nkwakaw, a suburb of Sefwi-Asawinso.
The incident has revived concerns among residents, with some pointing to a disturbing pattern of similar cases in the area, previously associated with fears known locally as “One Head One Kia.”
